Pelham Hall is pleased to announce the Spring 2023 Film Night programme - four strong titles which we hope you’ll enjoy!
Friday 13th January: THE OUTFIT [15] 105 mins – Crime/Drama
The year is 1956. Leonard (Mark Rylance), a master English tailor who’s ended up in Chicago, operates a corner tailor shop with his assistant where he makes beautiful clothes for the only people around who can afford them: a family of vicious gangsters. One night, two killers knock on his door in need of a favour – and Leonard is thrust onto the board in a deadly game of deception and murder.

Friday 10th February: MRS HARRIS GOES TO PARIS [PG] 105 mins – Comedy/Drama
Lesley Manville plays a widowed cleaning lady in 1950s London who falls madly in love with a couture Dior dress and decides that she must have one of her own. After she works, starves and gambles to raise the funds to pursue her dream, she embarks on an adventure to Paris which will change not only her own outlook, but the very future of the House of Dior.
Why see it? It’s a lovely feel-good story!

Friday 10th March: EMILY [15] 130 mins – Biography/Drama
Emily Brontë, a rebel and a misfit, and one of the world's most famous and enigmatic writers, died at the age of 30 having published only one novel and some poetry. Emily freely imagines her life story and how a sheltered clergyman’s daughter could create a work as fierce and passionate as Wuthering Heights.
Why see it? For Emma Mackey’s smouldering performance

Friday 14th April: SEE HOW THEY RUN [12A] 98 mins – Comedy/Mystery
In the West End of 1950s London, plans for a movie version of a smash-hit play come to an abrupt halt after a pivotal member of the crew is murdered. When world-weary Inspector Stoppard (Sam Rockwell) and eager rookie Constable Stalker (Saoirse Ronan) take on the case, the two find themselves thrown into a puzzling whodunnit within the glamorously sordid theatre underground, investigating the mysterious homicide at their own peril.
Why see it? It’s got an amazing cast and it’s terrific fun!

All films are shown upstairs in Pelham Hall (directions) in the bar area on the second Friday in each month. Doors open at 7.15 pm and films start at 7.30 pm prompt. There is a £5 per head entry fee, payable on the door (cash or card). The bar will be open too and an interval is scheduled part-way through each film too.
